Dr. Dr. Thayer (Meteorologist)Dr. Dr. joined us in April 2011. We called upon him because of his unique and refreshing style of delivery. You'll hear your Official Dr Dr Long Island weather forecast hourly on Christian 54 Online. Dr (his real first name) earned his degree in meteorology at Illinois State University and his Doctorate in Education in 1991 at Florida International University in Miami... he really is a Doctor. He's also a radio DJ of 30 years, having worked in Miami and New Orleans among others, and is a local newspaper feature writer. Fulfilling his childhood dream, Doc purchased his own radio station in 2005, and continues to own and operate that station, WZPH, in Zephyrhills, Florida. He's been a TV show host, and plays drums and congos in local bands in Florida. Doc's hobbies include competitive bodybuilding (he has 52 trophies and 6 titles) and performing as a stage magician. As you see in the picture, Doc has an alter ego, The Impressive Hulk... He says "Impressive but not quite incredible." His "gal" Wonderful Woman is pictured with him. In addition to meteorologist (each day he provides forecasts for over 30 clients), Doc is a teacher of high school mathematics, and teaches online math and technology courses through DeVry University and the University Of Phoenix. In addition to weather, you'll hear some of his other creations from time to time on Christian 54 Online. It's a true blessing to have such a qualified and um...wacky weathercaster.
